قياس النظر، فحص قاع العين، قياس ضغط العين، وفحص القرنية والعدسة. ولو محتاج فحوصات إضافية زي تصوير الشبكية أو تصوير القرنية بتتعمل حسب الحالة.
أيوه. بنعمل الليزك والفيمتو ليزك والليزك السطحي، والاختيار بينهم بيتحدد بعد فحص القرنية وقياس سُمكها ومقاس النظر.
مرة كل سنة على الأقل حتى لو النظر كويس، لأن اعتلال الشبكية السكري بيبدأ من غير أعراض، والاكتشاف المبكر بيمنع فقد النظر.
فحص عند الولادة، وفي سن ٣ سنوات، وقبل دخول المدرسة، وبعدها سنوياً. ولو لاحظت حول أو تقريب شديد من الشاشة لازم فحص فوراً.
